Katy has over 15 years of experience in the UK education sector having worked in schools, colleges and specialist education centres since 2008. Starting out as a Learning Support Assistant at an inner London Comprehensive, she quickly realised her love for working with young people and went on to train at the prestigious Froebel College at the University of Roehampton for her PGCE in Secondary English teaching.
In addition to her work in London comprehensives she also led the education programme for three years at a specialist sports education facility for young professional tennis players, runs a boutique tuition business and is an examiner for Pearson Edexcel.
Most recently she spent ten successful years at East London Arts and Music (ELAM) as an English and creative writing teacher and Industry Readiness Manager where she supported young people accessing the creative industries through work experience placements, mentoring and masterclasses interviewing many high profile industry professionals including Stormzy, Chase and Status, Ashley Walters and Lyor Cohen.
